The week of ECP: Anna

Although we aren’t working full time as consultants, my week is totally filled with ECP this time. My week started off good on Monday with a spontaneous meeting. The only problem was to have professional clothing: I was in casual dress since I had no meeting planned. Eager for the meeting, I changed clothes with Nadine, our treasurer and travel coordinator. She had just come back from a meeting and was amused by the proposition. Giggling in the bathroom, we changed ALL our clothing. Iris, Pieter, Ronald and me then took the public transport to the southern outskirts of Rotterdam; Barendrecht. Both groups heading for fruit companies, we were all eager to sign another contract. After an interesting meeting with our contact person, a fruit and vegetable company that imports from across the entire world and is specialized in exporting to Turkey, signed. Proudly we came back to the office with my 5th €250 contract. This gives me a 250/meeting ratio of 71%, which is a personal achievement that makes me very proud.

The ECP is a great team of diverse people working together towards a common goal, including getting small contracts which boosts my motivation a lot. There are many steps that we take from cold calling companies, planning meetings, signing small contracts for the research proposal and finally working for the company on the big contract to execute consultancy in Colombia. On Tuesday I was looking for new leads in the fruit sector, helping other consultants to reach the 250 new companies we have to contact every week.

On Wednesday Inge and I had a calling competition. As we were still working on our calling minimum goal of the week, Inge challenged me to call as many new companies as possible. Two hours later, Inge was six companies ahead of me but after the lunch break I caught up to her and even managed to plan a meeting with another fruit company. Then I had my 1-on-1 meeting with Megan to check up on my personal development plan. At 17:00 we had our general meeting with ECP and discussed the start of the desk research phase.

Thursday everybody went crazy about Kingsday, so the office was closed. Friday I came to the office after my Technology Management session in Delft to call more companies that might be interested in our consultancy services!
