Hi! My name is Niek Kirchner and I am the Project Manager Career of the XLIInd STAR Board. I am 22 years old and I finished my Business Administration Bachelor in June, last year.
During my first year, I was part of the BA Study Trip committee. After a great trip to Taiwan, I joined the RSM STAR Case Competition 2018 as Chairman and Treasurer. Together with the committee, we brought the competition to a new height. Our theme ‘Sustainability’ was essential to deal with temporary issues.
My exchange to Boston gave me the possibility to leave the STAR ‘bubble’ for a moment. However, when I came back to Rotterdam I realised that STAR was the best option to develop myself. Hence, I applied for the XLIInd STAR Board.
As the Project Manager Career, I supervised the SMW, the ERD, and the ERP. I have learned to lead, guide and motivate the full-time Active Members who were busy organizing STAR’s largest events, while keeping the long-term strategy of our association in mind. Having this strategic position, I had the opportunity to implement long-term improvements.
Furthermore, I have been in charge of the CSR strategy of STAR which accords my previous experiences and longings to a more sustainable world.
