This year again, Team RSM is participating in the biggest student sailing competition in Europe: The Race of the Classics. The race will take place between the 1st and 7th of April 2019.
If you want to join us for a day, you can purchase a VIP-ticket for April 1st. You will also get the opportunity to have a look at the boats and meet the crews on April 1st during the Open Day. We hope to see you there!
On April 1st, we will leave the port of Rotterdam for a sensational sailing race to England. 500 students will battle with their teams to win the Challenge Cup, the Golden Compass, the Race Achievement Award and the Media Award. We will sail to several cities in the Netherlands and Belgium, where we will enjoy numerous parties. After that, we will cross the North Sea and race to England to win the title! Once we arrive in England, we will have a fancy gala with all the teams. On the 7th of April, we will enter the port of Amsterdam and enjoy the final party together with all teams to celebrate the end of the trip.
Pictures will be posted on our facebook page throughout the week, so go over there to follow Team RSM during the race!
Applications are open at www.rsmstar.nl/shop!
Chairman: Carsten Burggraaf
Arghh! My name is Carsten and I’m the chairman of ROTC this year! ROTC is an amazing adventure where you really should participate in. But first: let me introduce myself a bit more. I’m 20 years old and I’m in my second year of BA. I’m really glad that I got the opportunity to organize an amazing event like the race of the classics. I’m really motivated to make it the best edition of ROTC and create an amazing trip for you (possible) participants. Probably hungover, we will race to England and capture the price! I have no sailing experience whatsoever, like the rest of the committee, so don’t be afraid that you can’t join because you can’t sail!
Marketing: Alieke Haanstra
Hi everyone! I’m Alieke Haanstra, a first year IBA student and this year I got the opportunity to be the marketeer of ROTC. This means I will be responsible for all recruiting and keeping you updated about everything regarding the Race, before and during the amazing week. It will be my first time setting foot on a sailboat, so I am really excited for this adventure, and obviously for all the amazing parties during the week. The committee certainly won’t be able to sail and party all by ourselves, so come and join us for the week of a lifetime. Hope to see you aboard!
Program: Alma van der Meulen

I’m excited to set sail with an awesome team, so see you on board!

Commercial: Hidde de Heus
Hi Everyone, in April we again embark on the most amazing trip ever; the Race Of The Classics. I, Hidde de Heus, have the honour to operate as a commercial for team RSM together with my fellow committee members Floor and Koen. Together we are responsible for the acquisition, the higher the acquisition the more glitter magic the trip will become! Since this is my second ROTC I’m extra motivated because I already know what the reward will be when we eventually set sail; the most amazing trip ever.
