Trust Person

As a student you can reach out to one of our trust persons, Anouk and Marc, who you can go to for (personal) issues that may hinder a positive experience at STAR. These issues may range from (mental) illnesses to broader issues within STAR that make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Your chairman is your first contact person for these issues. However, issues that you do not want to discuss with your chairman, can be shared with me. Everything we discuss is confidential and will not be shared with anyone. Any further actions will only be taken with your explicit consent.

Trust Person - Anouk van Balen

Dear student,

My name is Anouk and I am currently the Secretary & HR Manager of the 45th STAR Board. Four years ago, I began my bachelor’s degree in business administration. I was immediately intrigued by the opportunities that STAR presents. That’s why I’ve participated on three committees, and each year has brought fresh challenges and possibilities. However, it was also overwhelming at the time. You must complete your studies, find a room in Rotterdam, and stay up with your buddies. That is why it is important to talk. Everything we discuss is strictly confidential.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions/problems or just want to chat!

Trust Person - Marc Slokker

Dear student,

I am Marc Slokker and I am 22 years old. I am the Brand Manager of the XLVth STAR Board. I finished my bachelor’s in International Business Administration last year, after which I now am the Brand Manager of STAR. I joined STAR in my second year, becoming part of the marketing team. Even though I could not attend many events due to COVID-19 restrictions, I still enjoyed my time at STAR and learned a lot, which made me join the IBA Study Trip committee in my third year. I also enjoyed this committee massively, getting to know many people during the year and helping people have a fantastic time during the trip. However, all of the new experiences I gained in Rotterdam while studying have also made me feel overwelmed at times. I found out it is very important to sometimes sit down and talk to some people about things you are struggling with. Everything we talk about is strictly confidential.

You are always welcome to reach out to me if you have anything on your mind!
